Khamgara

Khamgara is a village in Purnia division of Bihar, this village is about 330 km away from the state capital Patna, this village used to be the center seat of Khamgara Raj, where Maithil Brahmins used to be the landlords, the last zamindar here was Balkrishna Jha, who gave a very large piece of land to the farmers in the Bhudan movement. Shri Bal Krishna Jha ji also became an independent MLA from Araria seat in 1962.
