Sophocles (497 BC, 496 BC, nai to 495 BC – 406 BC) ek purana time ke Greek writer rahaa, jon ki 123 plays likhis rahaa. Isme se abhi khaali 7 abhitalak survive kare hae. Sophocles ne Oedipus likha he. Tabhi 3 mahab playwrights the aur Sophocles unme se ek tha.
